Who We Work With

Supporting the people responsible for security and risk management in commercial buildings

Facilities Managers

Ongoing servicing, system upgrades and false alarm resolution. Technical reviews, clear quotations and full documentation to support building management and insurance compliance reporting.

Managing Agents

Service takeovers, system upgrades and outstanding works for managed commercial property portfolios. Responsive delivery with clear reporting for landlords and leaseholders.

Main Contractors

Intruder alarm installation, commissioning and handover for new build and refurbishment projects. Programme coordination, practical completion support and full documentation for building control sign-off.

Commercial Property End Users

Direct support for owners and occupiers needing installation, servicing or upgrades. Site surveys, practical advice and fixed-price quotations tailored to building use and insurance requirements.

Compliance & Risk-Based Approach

There is no single legal requirement mandating intruder alarms for all commercial premises, but most businesses install them to satisfy insurance conditions, protect assets and meet broader security obligations. We design systems that are proportionate to your risk and straightforward to maintain.

British Standards & Industry Guidance

We design and install intruder alarm systems in line with recognized standards and industry best practices.

  • BS 8243 – Installation and configuration of intruder alarm systems
  • PD 6662 – Application of European Standards (required for police response)
  • BS EN 50131 – Intrusion and hold-up alarm systems
  • System grading based on risk assessment

Insurance & False Alarm Management

Most commercial insurance policies specify minimum security standards, often including intruder alarms installed and maintained to recognized standards.

  • Annual servicing required by insurers
  • False alarm reduction measures
  • Monitoring and police response criteria
  • Confirmed alarm policy compliance

Maintenance, Testing & Certification

Regular maintenance keeps your intruder alarm reliable, insurance-compliant and eligible for police response where applicable. We provide documented service records after every visit.

Detection Devices

  • PIR and dual-tech detector tests
  • Door and window contact checks
  • Glass break detector verification
  • Detector positioning review
  • Cleaning and sensitivity adjustment

Control Panel & Signalling

  • Zone circuit continuity tests
  • Tamper circuit verification
  • Signalling path test (if monitored)
  • Communication module checks
  • Event log review and analysis

Power & User Management

  • Backup battery load test
  • Mains supply and fuse checks
  • User code audit and cleanup
  • Entry/exit time verification
  • User training refresher

Changing Provider or Inheriting a System?

If you've experienced persistent false alarms, unresolved faults, poor documentation or a lack of responsiveness from your current contractor, we can carry out a system assessment, bring records up to date and take over ongoing maintenance. We'll give you an honest picture of the system before agreeing a contract.

Common Issues We Fix

Intruder alarm faults can compromise security and trigger false alarms. We diagnose and resolve issues quickly to restore reliable protection.

False alarms from poorly positioned or dirty detectors
User code errors and lockouts
Low battery warnings or power supply faults
Tamper alerts from loose covers or cabling
Zone faults or open circuits
Signalling path failures (monitoring connection)

How We Work

1

Site Survey

We assess your premises, identify vulnerable points and discuss your operational requirements, insurance obligations and any existing system issues.

2

Risk-Based Design

We propose detector types, zones and signalling appropriate to your risk profile, budget and insurance requirements — no over-specification.

3

Installation / Modification

Our engineers install or modify the system with minimal disruption to your operations, following BS standards and manufacturer guidance throughout.

4

Programming & Testing

We configure zones, user codes, entry/exit times and signalling paths, then conduct full system tests before handover.

5

User Training & Handover

We train your team on arming, disarming, code management and false alarm prevention — and provide clear documentation for your records.

6

Ongoing Maintenance

Annual service contracts covering detector tests, battery checks, signalling verification and defect remediation — with documented service records after every visit.

Common Questions

What is the difference between wired and wireless intruder alarm systems?

Wired systems use physical cabling between detectors, contacts and the control panel. They are generally more reliable in environments with radio interference and are often preferred for larger or more complex sites. Wireless systems use radio frequency communication, which avoids the need for cable runs — making them quicker to install and better suited to listed buildings, tenanted premises or situations where cabling is impractical. Both can be designed to meet the same standards and grades; the right choice depends on your premises, risk profile and operational requirements.

What is a police response system and how does my system qualify?

A police response system is one where a confirmed alarm activation can result in a police attendance. Eligibility is not automatic — it depends on a combination of factors including system design and grading, signalling arrangements, the monitoring centre used, false alarm history, and compliance with the applicable standards (including PD 6662 and the requirements of the relevant police force). Ongoing maintenance and a low false alarm record are also typically required to retain response. We can advise on what is needed during the design stage if police response is a requirement for your site.

Can I arm and disarm my intruder alarm system remotely?

Many modern control panels support remote arming and disarming via a smartphone app or web portal, either directly or through a monitoring centre. This is useful for managing access across multiple keyholders, responding to out-of-hours situations, or simply confirming the system is set before leaving site. Availability depends on the panel and signalling configuration. If remote control is a priority, we can factor this into the system design from the outset.
